April-May

As Spring shifts into Summer, seamlessly
The Heat increases bringing change to change.

A robin sitting on a fence outside
A home that is not mine begins to sing
A song both new and old as time itself.

As mania malingers, insects buzz
And flowers bloom, suggesting there’s a new
Beginning. Ouroboros, knights alive;
Since life begins within a dream it ends
As soon as we awake. Say: Die to live again.
Embers in the morning burn. It figures hence
That Spring, the time of life anew, is bound
To gloomy musings; sunny skies of grey.

To live and know you live: a terrible
But necessary fate; the growth of nature
Coincides with neurons fired off in
The cranial matter, grayish and pink.

In visions of the night the robins’ faces
Are exchanged for human countenance.
In council or a conference, birds
Gather to discuss the ways of nature.
And they decide that it is what it is,
And what it is, is good.
But they cannot prove this.
But that does not matter.
